technically, the members of the xing family are her friends, even if she might not get along with all of them. dai is pretty loyal to an extent, so even if she's at odds with someone in the family, she'll defend them. it's not hard to make friends with dai either while she's in a good mood (unless the person is a sohma). she can be friendly and cheerful and loves to have a good time.

dai's been raised to hate the sohmas, so anyone that introduces themselves as a sohma to her will be automatically hated. dai can be pompous, bossy, and patronising at times, so there are reasons to not like/hate her. she can hold a grudge too, so she's not always forgiving.
