It looked as though it wasn’t going to rain and that today would be a great day. She had gotten up earlier than she had anticipated and couldn’t get back to sleep, so she had found herself preparing lunch for Yuki, Kyo, and Shigure. She knew that Shigure didn’t go to school, however, she figured that he would like to have a lunch packed away to eat if he got hungry later. She was always really curious as well to whether Kyo or Yuki really wanted the lunches she made, or if they just ate them because they didn’t want to hurt her feelings. She pushed the thought to the back of her mind. She couldn’t let herself think like that now! They were already way too kind to let her stay with them even though she felt like she could have tried to manage on her own. She knew the Sohma’s were way too kind to her, but she also wondered if it was just the fact that she had stumbled upon their secret. They weren’t frightening at all. Actually, it was not only fascinating but adorable that they changed into their animals of the Zodiac. She giggled to herself at the thought. Yuki turned into the rat, the winning animal of the Zodiac race, Shigure turned into the dog, and Kyo… Poor Kyo. He was the cat who was left out of the Zodiac. Tohru knew that she was partial to the cat as she had felt bad when she had heard the Zodiac story that her mother told her when she was little. She wanted the cat to be accepted into the Zodiac. That would make her happier than anything else! She listened to the nature from outside and smiled brightly. It was nice to be walking this early. It was bright and the weather was a tad chilly, but she didn’t mind it too much. The only thing that she probably would have changed would have been the fact that she left the house alone this morning to walk to school. She felt like she had done enough and didn’t want to trouble the Sohma’s today of all times. She had made their lunches and cleaned the dishes that she used to make them till they sparkled when the sun hit them. She left everything the way it had been before she let herself leave the house. “I wonder if Hana or Uo will be here early today,” she whispered to herself gently. He voice was soft, warm and gentle just like the wind on a cool day like this. Her blue eyes lit up as she had found herself at the school now. She had been so absorbed in her own thoughts that she didn’t even realize that she had gotten to the school so quickly while walking alone. “At least I won’t be late today,” she said aloud now; her tone very optimistic and cheerful. ‘I’ll keep fighting for you mom,’ Tohru’s thoughts were warm as she thought back to her mother who was deceased. She missed her mom very much. It was a fact that her mother was all that she had growing up after her father had passed away when she was young. She missed her mother’s warmth as well as her mother’s stories. She missed every last bit of it more than she could imagine. But, she was determined that she wouldn’t give up and that she would keep fighting for her mother as well as herself and she promised herself that she would do her best to graduate. Even if she did very poorly on tests. Tohru noticed a clock nearby that read that it was about six in the morning. She figured that the doors would probably be locked, so she sat down by herself on a bench where no one was and looked around in her bag for something to do. She picked up a book to check a planner that she decided to carry with her in hopes to keep up with events in school and a piece of paper dropped out of it. She blinked rather curiously, but reached out to pick up the paper only for her face to light up in pure shock. How could she have missed it!? How!? There was a big math test today! She felt extremely nauseous now. That was her luck. She knew that she didn’t find the time to study, so she figured that even if she crammed that she would probably fail. Now, what were they studying again. Geometric figures or something of the sort? Maybe not… Maybe it was graphing. Tohru wasn’t quite sure what it was. The paper red in bold red ink that there was a math test for today. She figured since she had a bit of time alone that she could study. No one seemed to be here yet, so it was the perfect opportunity to try and cram in all the information that they were learning. She reached into her bag only to gasp slightly. Her math notes were gone. Great. Just great. She knew she had them last night…but then the idea hit her that she had fallen asleep looking over them when she was working on a little bit of the homework packet due later this week. She leaned against the wall all the way against the bench and let her legs hang slightly so that they didn’t quite touch the ground. “Well, if anything I can just read from the book and try to see what I know from there,” she murmured gently. She dug in her bag now to pull out her math book and began turning the pages over and over again as she searched for the chapter that her class was on. She figured she was getting closer when she started to recognize some of the material that they had covered in the past. “Almost there,” she giggled with a smile. Finally, Tohru had found the page that she needed to be on and started reading and staring intently at the pictures and equations in the book. She looked like a student intently studying from far off, but inside she was exploding with emotional thoughts as she tried to figure out how to compute each answer. Obviously, things weren’t going to well for her when it came to math; but she wasn’t going to give up. That was the Tohru Honda way! Always keep fighting and doing your best no matter what life may throw at you! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - words: 1,103 outfit: School Uniform tags: Open notes: Cram Studying! @_@ credit: PANDIE of BTN [/style] |
