Mid afternoon. Generally this would be the time that kids were in school, and most were..except for one little girl. Though she should've been with the rest of her fellow middle school classmates, Kisa Sohma was instead sitting in a secluded part of the Sohma Estate gardens. She had played the part of getting ready to go to school, and even walked halfway there, but once she was sure no one would notice, the young girl made a detour back to the estate she lived in. Once, she never would've thought about skipping school, however, it'd become an almost constant in the past few weeks. It wasn't that she hated school, or even wanted to be a rebellious pre-teen. It was entirely due to her classmates and their teasing of her.
Kisa stifled a sniffle as she pulled her knees to her chest and pressed her face to her knees. Though her classmates were ignoring her, she still couldn't get the remarks they'd made of her out her head. All the comments about her hair and eyes, and even her voice, were embedded now, haunting her. Sure, she'd tried to defend herself, and even tried to laugh it off, but nothing worked. The teasing continued, and try as she might, she just wasn't strong enough to face it any longer. She'd thought about telling her mother, but she couldn't bring herself to do that. Maybe she could've told Hiro, but he didn't seem to want anything to do with her either now - was he ashamed of her? Haru was in high school, so they didn't see each other too often, and she didn't know who else to turn to..
Lost in thought, Kisa sat there against the tree, mostly concealed from the view of the main house. She wasn't sure if she'd dozed off or not, but she'd certainly lost track of time when the sounds of other kids reached her ears. It seemed that school was over already. The young girl lifted her head, wiping away stray tears that'd fallen, and peered out of her hiding spot. It didn't appear that anyone had decided to walk through the gardens, so now was probably a good time to get back to her room before someone spotted her..

Popcorn was flying threw the air and Aiamaya thrashed on her bed. "AHHHH! HOW UN-FAIR! HOW COULD THEY PICK HER! SHE'S SUCH A BITCH!" It was the end of Britain's Next Top Model and the results didn't please her. Her mother yelled for her to keep it down and calm down. Aia would not be calm, this was a tragedy. She just couldn't look at the tv anymore, clicking it off she tossed the remote the side. Fresh air was needed and cleaning up could not be bothered with at the moment.
Popcorn crunched under her feet as she made her way out of her room and bee lining it to the front door. She slipped on her sneakers and with a quick word to her mother she left without a reply. That was a mistake, she had forgotten to grab keys or money so she was stuck to the confines of the estate. No where else to go but around the tiny village she set off towards a random direction.
It was a nice enough day, not too cold or too hot. But it was just plain and ordinary. Nothing exciting happening and it didn't suit Aia. She was buzzing from her show still. She needed to get the energy out some how and she couldn't really think of anyway to do it. Running was just plain boring, Climbing a tree might be fun enough but then what would she do when she got to the top. She settled with a jog and jumping off random things. Making it a sort of obstacle course. Childish, but energy draining for sure.
About 5 minutes of it and she was already out of breath. The last 360 she did off a rock left her a bit dizzy and disorientated. Where did she end up? She didn't really recognize this part of the estate. Was this the part her parents warned her not to come to? The one filled with the old grumpy people or something? She couldn't recall it, having tuned her parents out at that point in the conversation.
It was quiet enough to seem like a ghost town, except for the few kids running in now, school must have been out or something. She walked pass a bunch and her eye had caught something pretty. A flower sticking out from a garden, might as well smell it right? What would be the harm anyways, weren't old folks into showing off their gardens and stuff.
"Damn..." This garden would defiantly win these oldsters a gold medal in the garden olympics. She wondered if all Gardens in Japan were like this or was it because this family was rich that they just showed off their cash. They even had a koi pond, how amazing was that. Aiamaya wish she had brought something to give to the fish to eat, she did love how the fish all swam up at once to grab food. She was tempted to put her own finger in to see if they tried to eat it. She was going to until she saw a weird orange haired reflection in the pond. She looked up to see who was there but couldn't spot the orange hair. Was it in the tree?
Jumping across the stones in the pond, making her way to the tree, she looked up into it. "What....maybe it was an orange squirrel....COME OUT ORANGE SQUIRREL I WANT TO PET YOU!!" She yelled.

Ugh, what was she going to do? Kisa ran her fingers through her orange locks, trying to stifle more tears. In some part of her mind, she knew that she wouldn't be able to just hide away forever, no matter how much she wished she could. If no one else, her mother would be the one to finally realise what happened...and then what would she say? Surely she'd be upset..but Kisa didn't know how else her mother would react. Would her mother blame her? Kisa shook her head, unable to stop the few tears that escaped at the thought. No, she didn't want that to happen - it couldn't. But even so, she was still back at square one with her situation. How much longer would she be able to skip school and hide? She hadn't been found yet, but surely her teacher would soon send a message to her mother, and--
Kisa held her breath, standing still behind the tree. Apparently it was too late to try to escape without being noticed - there was someone else in the gardens. Even better, they seemed to spot her. Kisa bit on her bottom lip. Of course they'd see her orange hair first; it was always her hair or eyes that made her stand out. She'd once been fine with her hair and eyes, considering she couldn't change them anyway, but as of recently, she was growing to hate them. Even if she was cursed with the spirit of the tiger, couldn't they still have normal hair and eye colours? ...Not that it made any difference at the moment.
The young girl bit her lip harder and looked around for an escape path as she heard the other woman approach. The garden was scant of more trees for her to make an easy escape, but she couldn't just stay where she was. Deciding to just try to get back to the main house, Kisa squeezed her eyes shut and began running in that direction. Trying not to be seen was obviously out the window at that point, but that didn't stop her from wishing she could be invisible.
