Lien walked in to the ball room. Her hair styled into curls that hung around her face. A headband with cat ears on it rested at the crown of her head and tucked behind her ears. She was dressed in a black dress with lace around the bottom of the skirt which brushed above her knees. Fingerless gloves were wrapped around her arms and stopped at her elbows. A black and white cat tail peeked out from her dress and curled up into an S shape.
The young Xing family head observed all the decorations that hung around the room. There were lanterns dropping down from the ceiling and providing low light to the room giving it a haunted feeling. There were many plants surrounding the area with all kinds of colors to their leaves that were cast in shadows from the flickering flames of the lanterns. Jack o lanterns were scattered between the plants with their faces glowing. Near the back of the room was a large table full of all kinds of foods from around the room and of to the side was a bar for the adults. There were various games for entertainment and a large dance floor in the center. The usually white floor was scattered with red splatters to simulate blood. The decorations themselves were rather simple, but the aura of the room gave it a feeling of mystery and fright.

Halloween. For most people, it was the one time of year that they could dress up as someone else, generally someone frightening, and get treats and party. For Dai, halloween was just another day for her to dress up, one that was widely recognised. Being a voice actress, she'd occasionally dress up as the female characters that she voiced, claiming that not only was it fun, but that it helped her to get into the character. However, this holiday allowed her to walk around in an outfit that she wouldn't usually wear without being stared at like she was weird. Halloween may not have been her number one favourite holiday, but it was definitely close.
What may have made this halloween one of the more horrible ones, however, was the fact that it wasn't going to be just the Xing family at the party. It was going to be hosted by them, yes, but it had been decided to allow the Sohma family to attend. The Sohmas. Daiyu crunched her nose up when she heard the news. She had been raised to loathe the Sohma family because of the feud between the two cursed zodiacs, and she honestly didn't mind it one bit. It had been one thing for Lien to decide to move the Xings to Japan, resulting in them being closer to the Sohmas, but to actually allow the Sohmas inside the manor? Dai didn't know what Lien, or the elders of the Xings were thinking, but if this was any indication of how their new life was going to be, Dai didn't like it.
Either way, Dai decided to attend the party, figuring that she'd be able to just avoid any Sohmas that happened to show their faces. That in mind, she strutted into the room where the party would be held, pausing a moment to take in the decorations. Everything was done up so wonderfully..not that she was surprised - her family didn't achieve their success by being lazy. This caused a small smirk to tug at her lips - she would bet that the Sohmas couldn't pull something like this off. Those thoughts aside, she glanced around at the few people who had arrived ahead of her, spotting Lien among them. Of course the young family head would be there already, though to be honest, Dai would've thought that the girl would've been dressed as a princess or anything along that line instead of a kitten.
Nonetheless, Dai made her way over to the other female, preferring to at least have a small chat with her until the party began going full swing. "Has everything turned out the way you planned?" Dai questioned with a small curtsy when she got within range of Lien. It was true that Dai didn't seek out interaction with the young God often, but that didn't mean that she didn't have respect for the younger female.

While he wasn’t quite noticed by people in the family, he would find himself bumping into students he had classes with in school who didn’t quite care for him or like him. He loathed all of that. He didn’t like to be there for things except the food. He heard that the Sohma’s were invited and he found that to be quite interesting. He had heard the rumors of their being a member in the family who was cursed and excluded. He found that to be quite interesting. He wondered why someone would do that to their own family if they were blessed enough to have the same curse. He figured that the Sohma’s were rather corrupt. They obviously had no idea about how to control power and accept their fate.
Tonight was his biggest worry. It seemed that he had to keep his eyes on things to make sure that no one got too touchy feely or hugged one of his family member’s if they were of the opposite sex. It was a drag, but it was a duty that he had to fulfill under his mother’s orders. He had to do something to take care of the family. After all, if he didn’t then he’d be worthless and would never be able to get a chance to steal the spot to lead the family from his half-sister. It was one of his many goals after all. It was that huge struggle for power that seemed to consume him since he had these ideas instilled in his mind from a young age. He had lost his opportunity at being special.
He sighed slightly as he passed by people not bothering to interact or be social with anyone. It was never like him to be social with people who didn’t bother to acknowledge him. They simply weren’t worth his time. He could feel the cold stares of people consume him as he walked by in his costume. Of course, he was a big fan of Mogeta so he found himself cosplaying the trainer of Mogeta for his costume. He probably appeared rather silly and childish to people but he didn’t quite mind. He wanted to dress up and live his life his own way. If people wouldn’t notice him for the most part anyways, he figured that he could dress how he liked.
He crossed his arms across his chest as he found himself stalking to a chair in the corner of the room. He figured that he’d probably just rest there for a while and glare at people who wanted to come by and talk to him. It was his way of shutting people out from him. It was better than having to talk with someone in words. When it came to having to speak words, they never quite came out right to him and he found himself hurting other people’s feelings more than anything. He didn’t really find himself interacting with other’s when necessary and his words were very bitter when spoken.
It wasn’t truly his intention to go around and hurt people, but he just did it on accident. He really wanted to get close with someone and bond with them. It just never happened the way he really wanted it too when he would try. After a while, he found himself giving up on wanting to make friends with people or even being someone’s friend for that matter. He felt that they wouldn’t care if they were close to him or not. He had truly become cold hearted.
He found himself taking a seat in a chair and closing his eyes to try and drown out the decorations, the people, and the music. If he tried his hardest he could imagine himself being elsewhere. He only opened his eyes when he felt a negative and familiar presence that made him tense. Oh, just great. The bullies from school were here and he could feel their glares at him. He could tell that he probably wouldn’t have a peaceful night because of how unsociable he tended to be. He didn’t understand why some of the girl’s in school liked him for his silent nature, but they just did. This caused a lot of the male’s to rather dislike him. However, there were a lot of girls at school who were terrified of him too. After all, when someone was a mystery it made them scarier because you didn’t know much about them.
He exhaled a breath of air roughly and searched around in a bag he carried with him for his music player. He figured he could get away with ignoring people if he had that as an excuse. Most people were rather stupid and would believe an excuse like that anyways. He chuckled softly to himself and placed his ear buds in his ears and turned on a soft j-rock tune from his favorite artist and he casually pulled out a manga from his bag and began to read while he listened to his music as he tried to drown away the entire world around him.

Sakura walked into the unfamiliar room. Her blue orbs observing all that there was to the decorations and the people that she had no real connection to. The sixteen year old found an invitation in her mailbox that morning to a Halloween festival. It caught her intrest so she decided to go see what the gathering was about. The black strands of her hair were tied up in a braided bun with a few strands of her hair falling freely around her face. A black feather peaked out from the hairdo that matched the feathers on her costume. Sakura was dressed as a black swan ballerina. She had a pair of ballet slippers on her feet that laced up to just below her knees. Her figure was wrapped in a strapless sequence material decorated with black feathers. She wore just a bit of pink gloss on her mouth and a smokey gray eyeshadow on her eyes. She had a soft smile on her face as she looked around at all the people in the room. She wasn’t sure if there would be more arriving or not honestly. Although to say that she felt out of place would be an understatement. Her eyes drifted around the room and fell on a boy that she recognized from her school. He was tucked away in a far corner of the room with a pair of ear buds in his ears. He seemed to have a desire to block out the world around him. Her curiosity was starting to get the better of her as she drifted towards him. Click for Sakura's Costume
